Alfred H. Amschler, 87, Route 1, Jacob, died at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 1983, in the St. Ann's Health Care Center of Chester.

He was born Feb. 9, 1896, in Jacob to John and Margarite Rathjen Amschler. He was married April 25, 1920, at Jacob to Anna Zerbst. She died July 1, 1961. He was married July 23, 1966, at Jacob to Louise Bergman Guetersloh.

Mr. Amschler was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Jacob and the Mississippi Valley Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors are his wife of Jacob; sons, Victor of Godfrey and Marvin of Chester; step-daughter, Rose Guetersloh of Anna; brother, Joseph of St. Louis; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Two infant sons, two sisters, a brother and a great-grandson preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Christ Lutheran Church of Jacob. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home of Ava from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and at the church after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
