Edith was the daughter of Harry Jacob Shepherd, Sr and Amanda Carver (Howell) Shepherd and was named for her Aunt "Edith" May Howell.

She married Russell Stout on February 21, 1923 in Elkton, Md.

They lived in multiple homes in Lambertville, NJ and finally settled into 22 Elm Street which was their final home.

She was an active member of the Patriotic Order of American's Lodge (P.O.A.) with whom she served as National President one year.

She enjoyed playing bingo and was employed for years as a store clerk in Lambertville, NJ.

She was a beautiful grandmother whom I loved with all my heart.
