According to the Vermont Death Records Her name is Mary M. Monty, Monkton, Vermont, age 27, wife of E.W.Benway, and her parents are James and Charlotte Monty.

He died at his home south of town in the presence of his three children that are at home, John, Roy and Ida.
He lived an eventful life, being a native of Vermont and was with the Green Mountain boys through the Civil War, receiving several wounds For his service he drew $30. a month pension. He was 70y 5m 21d old. Interment was in the cemetery north of town with G.A.R. rites Monday. Mrs. Chas Yearout is a daughter she arrived here Monday night to late to attend her father's funeral.
