Mrs. Mary Auck Passes Away at Age 82 - Funeral Services Sunday.

Mrs. Mary Smith Auck, widow of Adam Auck, lifelong resident of Crawford county died at 2:00 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. E. Steigerwalt, 440 Russell Ave., where she had lived for the past eight years. She was in her 82nd year.

Funeral services at the Steigerwalt home at 1:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with a service at Brokensword Evangelical church at 2:00 p. m. and burial in Brokensword cemtery.

Mrs. Auck, a daughter of George and Elizabeth (Gingerich) Smith, was born in Liberty tp., Oct. 2, 1842. She was married May 3, 1865 to Adam Auck, who died in March, 1880. Six children survive, Jacob of New Washington; George of Chatfield; Albert of Angona, Tex.; Henry of Tiro; Marie, wife of George Burkhardt of Bucyrus; and Rosa, wife of A. E. Steigerwalt of this city. One daughter, Emma, wife of Charles Weaver, is deceased.

Mrs. Auck was a worthy and estimable woman, held in warm regard by a wide circle of friends. Her life was one of active usefulness. Left a widow before any of her family was of an age to assume the responsibilities of the home, she reared her children and guided them carefully into paths of usefulness. She gained the respect of everyone who knew her and her name will remain enshrined in the hearts of her children as long as memory lasts.
