Howard W. Swan of 13 walnut St. Ext, died Thursday at the Griffin hospital, in Derby.

Born Aug. 10, 1940 in Derby, he was the son of the late Edward and Hilda Ann ( Smith ) Swan and was a former Ansonia resident.

He was a U.S Army Veteran. An employee of U.S. Repeating Arms Co, New Haven, he was a member of the machinist union.

He leaves behind several brothers and sisters.
