Leonard Medlock was a son of mr. and mrs. Bert Medlock of haigler. He was called into Army service in September 1944. He embarked for overseas and was stationed in the South pacific where he made the supreme sacrifice on the Ryukyu island battle of the Okinawa campaign on may 17, 1945. He was married to jessie (Stafford). Leonard was a brother of Earl medlock, who also lost his life in the service of his country. The bodies of Earl and Leonard were returned to haigler where a double military service was held for them, and then taken to Stratton for burial.
