Minerva married Jessie M. Smith on April 26, 1865, in Dallas County. By the age of 30 she was widowed with three daughters: Susan, Charlotte E., and Jessie E. They lived on a farm. In 1880 Minerva's brother and her mother were living with Minerva and her daughters.
In 1900 Minerva lived with her daughter Susan, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Minerva died at their home in 1932. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church of Lawson by the Rev. Charles Dickey of Mesquite.
