US Congressman. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he graduated from New York University, in 1946 and during the Korean War, served as a Sergeant in the Military Police Corps, U.S. Army, (1951-53). After the war, he was Supervisor for the Town of Huntington, New York, (1960-74), served on Suffolk County, Board of Supervisors, (1968-69) and president of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of Huntington, (1968-74). In 1975, he was elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 1981. After leaving Congress, he worked as a lobbyist and was a governmental and legislative consultant. He died from diabetes at age 64 in Falls Church, Virginia.
