Born to Rufus Gabriel and Annie Velma Brothers Gabriel. Third of nine children. Education in Lima Ele. School, and Douglas School in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. Carey was gifted with many natural talents. In 1962 he married Lavern Brewer. Carey was the Father of three children...Patrice Gabriel, Gary Shinault, and Shirley Shinault. He had four Grandchildren.
After retirement Carey returned home to Lima until his illness. He passed away in his sister's home in Okla City while being lovingly cared for by his family. Carey re-dedicated his life to Christ before being called to rest. He leaves in addition to his wife and children, his Mother, Father, sisters..Velma Gabriel Wilson, Patricia Gabriel Jones, Brenda Gabriel Hill, Sharon Gabriel Frazier, brothers..
