My husband got attached to Lucky dog because he would come and beg food from him at the jobsite he was working on every day. When the job was done, my husband just couldn't leave him there and brought him home. I didn't really want another dog, but his cute face and need for attention won me over; so he became our 5th dog.

The vet estimated he was 6 to 8 months old. Lucky was a real pistol! He could jump almost 5 feet straight up from a standing start. He had to do that to look out the back door window until we installed the sliding glass door. He was very protective of us and didn't make up to strangers very easily. We ended up taking him on vacation with us whenever we went somewhere as we didn't trust him not to bite whoever was watching him. He ended up seeing most of the states east of the Mississippi and several to the west through our various road trips. He was an excelent traveler and loved riding in the Trailblazer. He would nap until he heard the turn signal and then jump up to see if we were pulling into a park or somewhere to take a walk.

His favorite vacation spot was at the dog beach in Jupiter, Florida. Every time we got near the ocean--he would start wagging his tail like crazy. He also enjoyed going out on our boat and sat in the jump seats in the back with his face in the breeze. When it got too hot out--he would go into the cuddy cabin and crash out on his bed.

He was a lucky dog and we were lucky to have him.

Our other good dogs:

Bitsey,

Sparky,

Trazzy

Ace

Banjo

We love you Lucky, wait for us over the Rainbow Bridge.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them.

And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart.

If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and maybe I will become as generous and loving as they are."
