Martha was of the Presbyterian faith.

Martha Adda White married Edward Joshua Bonsall on April 25,1894, at Oakhill, Pa., at the home of her Parents, George and Emma White. Martha read to her Children, CURFEW MUST NOT RING TONIGHT by Rose Hartwick Thorpe (1850-1939)and MEASURING THE BABY by Emma Alice Browne.

Martha died one day before her Wedding Anniversary.

As told me by my Grandmother, Mary Bonsall Borland:My Great Grandmother, Martha Adda White, was burning leaves, when her "wrapper" caught fire. Husband,Edward threw water on the flames, then told Daughter, Mary, to get a rug off the porch, and he rolled Martha on the ground, to put the flames out. Martha suffered burns to her left side and hand, and was treated at home for about a week, with linseed oil, limewater, and bandages, but when she did not improve, she was taken to Coatesville Hospital,Coatesville, Pa. Edward was told to bring clothes for Martha's discharge, but she died 4-24-1910. The Hospital claimed she had gangrene, but the undertaker said he saw no evidence of gangrene.

Mrs. Martha, wife of E. J. Bonsall, West Brandywine, died at the Coatesville Hospital yesterday afternoon from burns sustained while burning brush on afternoon at her home, about three weeks ago. Everything in the way of medical skill was done for her, but she was so horribly burned about the abdomen that little could be done.

Besides her husband Mrs. Bonsall leaves to mourn her death four children: Mary, Alice, Thomas and Walter, at home; also three brothers: William White, of Coatesville; Benton White, Lancaster; Guy White, of Camden. Mrs. Bonsall was the daughter of George White, of Guthriesville.
