Benjamin Franklin Annis was born October 22, 1833 at Parishville, NY, the son of Charles and Nancy (Tupper) Annis. He enlisted in the same unit, Company "C", 37th Illinois Infantry, and on the same day as his younger half brother, Charles Annis, and probably was involved in the same battles and skirmishes. After the war he removed to Lake Mills, WI and according to his brother, Charles, he was killed by a wild horse at that place on July 7, 1866.
