Son of Francis and Elizabeth (Spencer) Gulick. Married to Elizabeth Marshall on Feb. 25, 1830, in Adams Co., OH. They were the parents of Benjamin, John, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane, Francis Marion, Mary Ellen, William, Elizabeth, and Amos. They settled in Des Moines County, Iowa about 1837. Francis and Elizabeth are listed in the 1860 census living in Des Moines County. Francis is also reported to be residing near Dodgeville in the death notice for his son, William, which appeared in the Burlington Hawkeye on May 5, 1863. I have found no trace of him after that. He apparently died between 1863 and 1870 and the family believes Old Stone Cemetery to be the burial location. Although no gravestones have been found for Francis and Elizabeth, there are unmarked graves in Gulick owned plots at Old Stone.
