Norbert E. Ross, 62, 1704 Elm, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 25, at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1918 in Hays, the son of Frank and Andrea (Meier) Ross.

Ross married Viola M. Dreiling on Sept. 4, 1946 in Hays.

A veteran of World War II, Ross was retired from the U.S. Postal Services. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Daniel J., Littleton, Colo., Ronald A., Gladstone, Mo., and Kenneth F., Overland Park; two daughters, Mary Jo of the home, and Mrs. Paul (Judith Ann) Gilbert, Grandview, Mo.; five brothers, Louis, Richard, and Alan, Hays, Lawrence, Great Bend, and Francis, Ellinwood; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Mary Ellen) Fromm, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Irene Hauser, Hays; and one grandchild.

Services were at 11:30 a.m. Saturday Feb. 28, 1981 at St. Joseph Church. The Hays VFW conducted graveside military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery.
