Al Kustra, a native of McKeesport, Pa. enlisted in the Army Air Corp on October 6, 1944. After WW II he was employed by US Steel, National Tube Co. in the Electric Weld Division which was the newest addition to the turn-of-the century mill. He was an avid photographer, focusing his work on 35 mm slides. His other hobby was the accordian. Al, along with his brother-in-law, another accordianist, provided polka music at all of the family gatherings. He was married in 1955 and had one son and one daughter. Al and his wife built a new home on the outskirts of McKeesport in 1960 which incorporated a well organized work shop. He had excellent carpenter skills and could conceptualize and build projects from scratch with out blueprints. His sudden and unexpected death was a shock to all of the extended family.
