Frances was born in Albrighton, Staffordshire, England to George & Mary Comley.
She sailed by herself from England to the New York, arriving on 4/28/1904.
She married Hugh Dempsey on 9/8/1904 in BC, Canada.
Hugh was born in Perth, Ontario, Canada on 10/02/1847.
They moved first to Spokane, WA in 1906 & then to Portland, OR by the 1920 census. Hugh died in 1928.
I don't find her in the 1930 or 1940 census records, but the city directories show her in Portland in 1928, 1953, & 1955, sometimes working as a seamstress.
Frances was admitted to the Oregon State Hospital, about 1957, a residential facility in Salem, Oregon for the treatment of people with mental illness. After living there for over 3 years she died of heart failure at the institution on 5/28/1961 at the age of 91.
