George Turner Clark was born in Central City, Marion co, Illinois which is just two miles north of Centralia and about 60 miles east of St Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Aetius "Eddie" and Agnes Caroline Watts Clark.
His father was born in Tennessee, and was a farmer, a teamster, and later a miner.

On May 1, 1872 George married Elizabeth Caroline "Carrie" Wilson, daughter of Susan Francis Butler Wilson, and her first husband, John Wilson. They were married in Louisiana, Pike co, Missouri.

By the Jun 3, 1880 census, they were living in Iron Township, Iron co, Missouri and had four children, Floyd 7, Eddie and Effie, twins who were 4 and Rosie, just 1.

Our records have a distressing 20 year gap as the 1890 Censuses were destroyed by fire in Washington..so we find them again only in 1900. Now their family has added Nellie Clark, and they had twins Roy and Ray..though by the 1900 census, Ray has already died. The twins were born Apr 23, 1887 and Ray died Nov 26, 1893 at only 6 years and 7 months old.

In 1910 he and Carrie were living in Hickory Grove, Warren, Missouri and living with them was daughter, Rosie, and her husband, Charles Stewart. On 20 May 1911, Carrie died.
Sometime later he left Warren County, Missouri with his son Roy, and moved to Colorado. Rosie and Charles moved west too. There he lived until his death.

He is buried in a pauper's grave with other persons and the grave is unmarked. Sadly, there is only family memory and this tribute to mark his passing.

Roy Clark died on 15 Aug 1952 in Denver, Colorado according to a Social Security Death claim, but the place of his burial is not known, though it may be in this same Crown Hill cemetery with his father.
