O. Earl Gilliland, 102 of Overbrook KS passed away at 9:42 pm Friday April 29, 2011 at Brookside Manor in Overbrook.
He was born Sept 18, 1908 the son of Harry and Lettie (Johnson) Gilliland. He attended Boyd School and on April 22, 1934 married Dorothy McNary. He was a long-time farmer in the Pomona KS area. and a member of the Franklin County Farm Bureau since 1940 and served on the board for several years. He was also a board member of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 15 yr. and a board member for Appanoose Schools for 17 yrs and Appanoose Twp several years as well as a member of Appanoose Baptist Church
Survivors include wife Dorothy, and children Nadine & Larry Briggs, Rex & Elaine Gilliland, Helen & Bill Patterson, Keith & Karen Gilliland nine grand children and 14 great grand children
He was preceded in death by brothers Elmer & Willis and sister Grace Gates.
