Pearl Kaplan Abramson, 95, was born in Galveston and moved, at the age of 5, to Houston, where she spent the rest of her life. She died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002.

Abramson was a member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun, a life member of Hadassah and a member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Yeshurun and Congregation Emanu El.
.
The important things in her life were her husband, children and religion. She was a spirited lady who loved and was loved by her family and friends. She was a true matriarch of the family who will be missed by all.
.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert (Al) Abramson; sister, Bessie Finger; and brothers, morris Kaplan and Harry Leland Kaplan, M.D.
.
She is survived by her children, Renee Spolane, Morrie K. Abramson and wife, Rolaine, Jay E. Abramson and wife, Joan; grandchildren, Robin Sofer, Ronny Spolane and wife, Yvonne, David Spolane and wife, Marlene, Karen Selzer and husband, Bill, Beth Fingerman and husband, Wayne, Marc Abramson and wife, Nancy, Kathy Szoeke and husband, Andy, Amy Abramson, Alyssa Abramson; great-grandchildren, Nicole Sofer, Scott Sofer, Adam Spolane, Rikki Spolane, Michael Spolane, Alexa Spolane, Morgan Selzer, Cory Selzer, Brenden Abramson, Haley Abramson, Alexandria Szoeke, Erin Szoeke and Joshua Leford.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002 at 11 a.m., in the Sanctuary of Congregation Emanu El. Rabbi Roy Walter officiated. Private interment was at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery (Allen Parkway).
