Sadie was born in Kimberly, Artemesia Township. She married Harry Henderson Akins on 14 Feb 1932 at Ontario, Canada. They had three children together named Joan Frances, George Henderson and Robert Harry.

AKINS, Sadie Gwendolyn - Peacefully at Saugeen Villa Long Term Care, Hanover on Saturday, November 11, 2006. Sadie Ward formerly of Flesherton in her 95th year was the beloved wife of the late Harry Akins. Loving mother of Joan (Bob) Stoddart of Eugenia, George (Gloria) Akins of Peterborough and Bob (Dale) Akins of Hanover. She was adored and cherished by her 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Lottie Hutchinson, Villa Fawcett, Blanche Risk, grandson Greg and daughter in law Donna. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT FUNERAL HOME, Flesherton on Monday, November 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 14 at 11:00 am.
