Grapeland Messenger - October 30, 2003 Obit for Services for Harvey Huff age 84 of Grapeland were held Wednesday October 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Grapeland with Rev. David Bradley officiating. Burial followed in the Dailey Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland. Pallbearers were grandsons, Brad Huff, Kyle Huff, and Ken Skidmore, nephews Larry Huff, Michael Huff, Scott Huff, Steven Huff and Ronny Finke.
Mr. Huff passed away Sunday, October 26, 2003 at East TX Medical Center in Crockett. He was born January 22, 1919 in the Dalys Community, Houston County to Eugene "Brud" and Lorena Brown Huff. Mr. Huff was a farmer and rancher. He also served two terms on the Grapeland ISD School Board and was owner and director at the First state Bank in Grapeland for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grapeland. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Luna Frank Matthews; brothers, Gene Huff and Nolan Huff, a great granddaughter, Lauren Elaine Skidmore. He is survived by his wife of 58 year, Molly Nelson Huff of Grapeland; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Necia Huff and Paul and Charlotte Huff both of Grapeland; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Oran Neill of Athens and Janis and Kenneth; Skidmore of Mont Belvieu; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Nancy Huff of Grapeland and Charles and Bobbie Huff of Austin; sisters, Ima Ashwood of Grapeland and Ann Brown of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Huff and Barbara Huff both of Grapeland; eight grandchildren, Carrie Luce, Kyle Huff, Amy Wyatt, Alie Tyner, Ken Skidmore, Kori Schweinle, Brad Huff and Gretchen Jagot; great grandchildren, Kelsey Luce, Colton Luce, Abby Hinds, Emmy Hinds, Claire Huff, Anna Huff, Lindsey Skidmore, Andrew Tyner, Kimberly Jagot, Noah Jagot and Mason Schweinle due in December. Also his special pet, Missy.
