Mr. Amos was born in Taylor County to the late George and Syvie Amos, and was the widower of Eleanor Jean Blackerby Amos. He was retired from Lowell Packing Company.
Survivors include his four sons, Carlton "Bunny" M. Amos, Jr. of Macon, James Vernon Amos (Andrea) of Byron, Alan Craig Amos (Tanya) of Warner Robins, and Adam Earl Amos (Kimberly) of Macon; grandchildren, Alecia Moore, Jennifer Snellgrove, James "Jimbo" Amos, Jr., Macy Amos, Annabelle Amos, Austin Amos, and Patience Amos; five great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Boone of Columbus.
