CLEARFIELD – Loving husband, father and brother, Dee R. Forbes, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his home.

He was born on October 16, 1922 in Layton, Utah the son Clarence George and Grace Alder Robins Forbes.

Dee married Karma Stucki on November 19, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer on C-46 airplanes. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1980 after 39 years of service.

He was a member of the Layton City Planning Commission for 18 years, the Davis County Board of Education for 8 years and the Davis Area Vocational Center for 12 years.

Dee was active in the LDS Church, he served as Stake Clerk, Stake Missionary, High Council, Young Men Advisor and with his wife as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple, He was an active member of the Commemorative Air Force which restores and flies World War II airplanes.

Surviving are his wife Karma, children: DeAnn Forbes, Blanding, UT; June (Sidney) Hurst, Las Vegas, NV; Paula (Robert) Hussey, San Jose, CA; Joyce (Stanley) Brown, Layton; John (Annamarie) Forbes, West Jordan, UT; Richard (Debbie) Forbes, Heber City, UT; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three on the way.

Also surviving are his brothers, Charles, Homer and Layne Forbes.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 So. State Street. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Commemorative Air Force in memory of Dee R. Forbes, Utah Wing P.O. Box 62000 Midland, TX 79711.
