On May 14, 1946, she married Dr. Elliott Rae Chappell. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are: sons, Dick Chappell and his wife, Cheryl, of Omaha, Bob Chappell and his wife, Sherry, of Littleton, Colo., and Tim Chappell and his wife, Peggy, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberlee Torrence and her husband, Nick, of St. Louis, Megan Chappell of San Diego, Nic Chappell of Dallas, Laura Chappell of Tucson, Ariz., and Leslie Chappell of Fort Collins, Colo.; and stepgrandsons Tom Flynn of Gunnison, Colo., and Kevin Flynn and his wife, Nicole, of Seattle.
Mobie grew up in the Fort Morgan area and graduated from Fort Morgan High School.
Mobie attended the University of Nebraska School of Nursing where she met and later married Dr. Elliott Rae Chappell. In 1948, they settled in Minden where she devoted her life to her family and home.
In 1953, the family moved to Louisville, Ky. They returned to Minden in 1962. In 1977, they moved to Kearney. In 1987, Dr. Chappell retired from practice. In 1988, they returned to Minden and built a log-constructed home for their retirement years.
Mobie was an avid bridge player and was honored last year for her many years of membership in Kearney PEO Chapter HB. She also was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by parents, Dean and Mae Dick; grandson, William Gregory Chappell; parent-in-laws, W.E. and Mona Chappell; and aunt, Pearl Saltzgaber.
