SAN PIERRE -- Dorothy J. Hewett, 68, of 202 W. Phebe St., died at 5:10 p.m. Friday in Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, of natural causes. Mrs. Hewett had been a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was born July 10, 1927, in San Pierre, and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 12, 1946, in San Pierre, she married Joseph C. Hewett . He survives with three sons, Charles and Timothy, both of Indianapolis, and Jack of Greenwood, Ind.; and two grandchildren. She was a member of Rural Carriers Association and Homemakers Extension Club of San Pierre, and was active with the local Boy Scouts.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Luke United Church of Christ. Burial will be in San Pierre Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today in O'Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
