Ruth Gilliland Bain, 76, died Sept. 12, 2003 at a local retirement center.
A native of Pinehurst, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Leslie Gilliland and the late Lula Byrd Gilliland. Mrs. Bain moved to Portsmouth in 1948
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Gene Primm officiating. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
