Big Rapids - Arthur A. Starr, 74 of Big Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1991 at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1917 in Big Rapids, the son of Frank and Catherine (Rau) Starr.

He married Dorothy Nelson of Big Rapids, May 8, 1947 Newaygo and they made their home in Big raids until the time of his death.

He was employed by Liberty (unreadable) Dean's Food, for over (unreadable) until his retirement in (unreadable).

He was a World War II Army Veteran, was a member of the Big Rapids American Legion Post #98 and the Reed City VFW Post.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three sons, Frank and his wife Aleta Starr, Mike and his wife Kathy and Richard and his wife, Debbie, all of Big rapids; two daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Larry Hinsley of Barryton and Nola and her husband, Brad Manchip of Big Rapids; two brothers, Louie and his wife, Dorothy Starr and Fred and Mable Starr, both of Big Rapids; four sisters, Mrs. Vera Johnson of Detroit, Mrs. Clarabell Carr of California, Mrs. Geraldine Emlaw of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Noreen Selfridge of Lansing; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother John and a sister, Margaret and also two infant brothers.

Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Daggett-Gilbert with the Rev. Tom Page officiating.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #98 of Big Rapids.

Burial will be in Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids.
