Elbert Bertram, son of Johnnie and Emma Eads Bertram, born Jan 25, 1889, departed this life Nov. 6, 1953, being 64 years, 9 months and 11 days old. He was united in marriage to Martha Bolin, Sept. 8, 1912, who preceded him in death 32 years ago. To this union one daughter was born Miss Mamie Bertram, who remains at home.

He was later united in marriage to Etta Denney, Oct. 28, 1922, to this union was born 2 children, one dying In infancy. A son, Chester Lee Bertram who died in service Aug. 31, 1944, at the age of 19.

Elbert is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Mamie Bertram, one brother, Fred Bertram. Slickford, Ky., and two half brothers, Clarence Bertram of Hidalgo. Ky., and three sisters, Zora Barrier and Florence Perdue of Windy, Ky.; Eliza Bell of Aaron, Ky., and three half sisters, Grace and Glenna Bertram of Hidalgo, Ky., and Ella Barnes of Monticello, Ky.

He professed in Christ 8 years ago, and joined the Edwards Chapel Methodist Church, then later moved his membership to Mill Springs Methodist Church.

He lived a faithful Christian life, until death, the last words he spoke " I'm ready to go."
