J. Alexander McCormack, 93, of Emerson Road, a 19-year teller in the monies' department of Valley Bank of Springfield, died Saturday at a local nursing home. He retired in 1970. He previously worked in the accounting department and as a ski and boating instructor at Seigniory Club Resort in Montibello, Quebec, Canada. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he moved here in 1943 and lived here for 28 years until he moved to Southampton. He lived there for 22 years and returned here in 1996. He attended Holyoke Community College. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Longmeadow, a former member of the National 70 Plus Ski Club, the Southampton Historical Society, and the Southampton Autumnagers. He leaves his wife of 61 years, the former Mary Drewniak; a son, Joseph A. Jr. of Greenfield; a daughter, M. Theresa McCormack of Hudson; his twin brother, Frank R. of Morin Heights, Quebec; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home of East Longmeadow, and in the church, with burial in Longmeadow Cemetery . Calling hours are Tuesday afternoon and evening.
