"Zella Dalby, 94, of Moweaqua, died Tuesday (March 15, 2005) at the Moweaqua Nursing Center.
The funeral will be at Noon on Friday at the Osborn Funeral Home, in Dix, with the Rev. Roger Tate officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 22, 1910 in Texico, daughter of Charles Elmer McKinney and Margaret Etta Green. She married Leonard Ray Dalby, he died in 1982.
Survivors include sons, Randy Dalby and his wife Cathy of Mattoon and Gary Dalby and his wife Christine of Neptune Beach, Fla; two grandchildren, Aaron Dalby and his wife Lorie, Justin Dalby and fiance' Jessica Berg, all of Mattoon; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Roy Dalby and Logan Glenn Dalby. Also survived by very special friend: Larry Lynch of Mattoon and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Clifford, Keith and Kenneth McKinney; three sisters, Velma Haley, Verna Tate and Clarabelle McKinney.
Mrs. Dalby was a member of the First Christian Church in Moweaqua, where she taught Sunday School for several years.
