Born Rose Cardona in Brooklyn, she also lived in Midland Beach and New Brighton before settling in Clifton in 1989.
A homemaker, Mrs. Cardona worked for several years as a data entry clerk for the former St. Vincent's Hospital, West Brighton.
Mrs. Cardona graduated from New Dorp High School and also earned a certificate from the former Drake Business School.
Mrs. Cardona loved playing Pogo on the computer, playing lottery games and reading. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Aviles; a daughter, Michelle Aviles; two brothers, Eprain and Jesus Cardona; six sisters, Nellie Scalisi, Doris DeJesus, Margie Carrera, Elsie Rodriguez, Patricia White, and Deborah Cardona; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in the Martin-Hughes Funeral Home, Concord. Arrangements include cremation.
