Leon P. Breeggemann, age 82, of Shakopee died on Wednesday, December 2 at St. Gertrude's Health Center, Shakopee. Leon was born on September 28, 1927 in Marystown. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Diedrich) Breeggemann. Leon married Margaret V. Jacobs on November 15, 1955 at Carver. He worked as a farmer prior to retirement. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War and was involved in the Berlin Air Lift Operation. He was a member of the St. Anthony Society of the Catholic Aid Association of St. Mary's, Marystown, the Shakopee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4046 and a member of the American Dairy Association.
Survivors: Wife, Margaret; 4 sons, 3 daughters, Paul (Cynthia), Ronald (Pamela)all of Chaska, Timothy (Sandra), David (Annmarie), Debra (Gerard) Theis all of Shakopee, Susan (Richard) Buetow of Cologne, Nancy (Patrick) Link of Shakopee; 25 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Loretta Solheid of Belle Plaine, Albert (Helen), Donald (Marian) all of Shakopee, Mary (Richard) Klehr of Belle Plaine; sisters-in-law, Severin and Dorothy Breeggemann both of Shakopee, many other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roman, Frank, Joseph, Clarence and infant brother, Lawrence; sisters, Rosanna Theis, Alvira Menke.
