The eldest of three sons born to Alvan E. and Julia (Needham) Johnson. His younger brothers were Alvan O. (b. Jan. 1902) and Warren K. (b. Jan. 1912).

Served in World War I from Oct. 1918 to Nov. 1919.

On Nov. 15, 1919, Cornelius, 22, married Miss Mira H. Parkinson (b. 1891) in Waukesha, WI. They settled in West Allis, WI. Daughter Marian Ruth was born in Jan. 1924 and died 4 days later. Daughter Barbara Louise was born in Jan. 1926. By the 1930 U.S. Census the family was living in Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Ohio.

His niece Janet Johnson died at age one in 1936. Neil's brother Alvan died in 1947 at age 45. His mother died on his 50th birthday in 1947.

Daughter Barbara married Mr. George Morisky in Jan. 1950.

Mr. Johnson had an interest in genealogy. He wrote and published a Johnson family genealogy in 1968. (I, Ronald Gadzalinski, have a copy of this genealogy).

In Nov. 1969, Neil and Mira celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together.

Mira Johnson died in Oct. 1973 at age 82. She was buried in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha with their daughter Marian.

Cornelius died 6 days after his 84th birthday. Survived by his daughter Barbara (George) Morisky. Survived also by his brother Warren (Bertha), and many nieces and nephews. It is unknown the number of grandchildren he had by Barbara. He is also buried in Prairie Home Cemetery.
