JAMES ROBERT OLSON, 61 ROCKFORD - James Robert Olson, 61, of Rockford died at 2:42 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, in Swedish American Hospital. Born April 10, 1948, in Denver, the son of Robert and Eleanor (Hjelm) Olson.
Married Lorane J. Turnquist on July 26, 1969, in Rockford. Jim was the director of operations for Rockford Public Schools, and later director of marketing at Bradley and Bradley Architectural firm. He was a devoted husband, son and father. Jim was also an avid golfer, artist and singer. Attended First Evangelical Free Church.
Survived by wife, Lorane; children, Peter (Kim) of Nashville, Tenn., and Nathan (Kelly) of Palatine; mother, Eleanor of Rockford; brother, John (Sandy) of Palm Desert, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Katrina (Seth) Posner-Frankel, Christian Posner, Jacob (Jennifer) Turnquist, Natalie (Peter) Beckwith, Hannah (Rich) Segrist and Justine (Patrick) Roberts; and numerous cousins.
Predeceased by father, Robert. Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Road, with visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m.; Pastor Bertie Holmgren will officiate.
