Willa Maxine Barnett, 84, of Sturgis, died Wednesday, Aug. 18. 2010, at Thurston Woods Village following a short illness.
She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in LaGrange County, Ind., a daughter to Albert and Sarah (Hattie) (Antonides) Lytle.
On July 1, 1950, she married Goble (Joe) Barrett in LaGrange County, Ind.
She was a Sturgis resident for 60 years, coming from LaGrange, Ind. Her early life she worked at the Kirsch Co., and was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed cooking and animals.
Surviving are her husband, Goble Barnett of Sturgis; her children, Douglas (Diane) Barnett of Flushing, Mich., Vicky Hart, Dennis Barnett and Ruby (Ron) Abbs, all of Sturgis; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Vada Conrad, Wava Lytle and Eunice Hollister.
Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Graveside services and interment will be held at a later date at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
Memorial donations may be directed to Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
