Amelia S. Elliott, former Clarion county resident, died after a long illness at her late home in Seattle, Washington, on Christmas night, 1939.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Emanuel and Mary A. Over and was born April 10, 1856, on the Over homestead in Licking township, where her girlhood was spent. On March 4, 1884, her marriage to Thomas J. Elliott of Rapid City, South Dakota, took place and the following twenty years of her life were passed in Rapid City, later the family moved to the Pacific Coast.

Surviving Mrs. Elliott are her husband, also a native of Clarion County, their seven children, eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren ; one brother, Sirwell C. Over and a sister, Edith E. Over, both of Santa Ana, California, also survive.

The Rapid City Journal in the Leedy Obituaries in the keeping of the Minnilusa Historical Society. Dated Jan 5,1940

Word has been received at Rapid City SD of the death of Mrs Thomas J Elliott 83, early day resident of Rapid City SD, in Seattle WA, late in December.
Her husband was a partner of Chris Lenhart in the orginal Rapid City Lumber and Machinery company. Lenhart opreated the office and Elliott the timbering. Elliott also owned considerable property in Rapid City SD in the early days, including the land where the Cathedral now stands.
Mrs Elliott died at the home of a daughter Mrs R L (Irene) Williams and funerals services and burial took place in Seattle.
Susan Amelia Elliott was born at Callenburg PA, April 19,1856. She was married at Callenburg in 1884 and later they came to Rapid City SD. where seven children were born, all survive. They moved to Seattle in 1905.
In addition to her husband and Mrs Williams, she is survived by three sons, Thomas and George of Winlock WA, and Charles of Seattle WA. Three daughters Edith Cheever of Seattle WA, Alice Baldwin of Cottage Grove OR and Mildred Corbett of Los Angeles CA.
