Son of John "Big John" Barnhiser (1742-1849) and Gertrude Neikirch Barnhiser (1750-1800)

Married Sarah McDonald on 30 December 1809 in Washington County, Maryland

No headstone found in Cem., but, from "Cemetery Records Supplement", Mary Lou Earl, Indiana Room, Noblesville Library, Noblesville (Hamilton Co.) IN - "NOTE - Members of the Barnhiser family tell us that the husband" (Martin) "is also buried here. One of these members, Harvey Barnhiser of Indianapolis, told me on the telephone that older members of the family use to take him to the old graveyard even as a youngster." ... "we learned that a stone was taken to the home of Martin's son William" ... "and used as a part of the sidewalk for many years." ... "the stone was used near the kitchen on the outside of the house." (records compiled by Arlynn G. Gantz, P.O. box 535, DeWitt, Michigan 48828 - as of 10 Aug 1980)
