Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Conacher was the brother of hockey players, Lionel and Roy Conacher. He played for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1929 to 1938, the Detroit Red Wings from 1938 to 1939, and the New York Americans from 1939 to 1941. He was also Head Coach of the Chicago Blackhawks from 1947 to 1950. Conacher was the recipient of the Art Ross Trophy in 1934 and 1935, member of the First All-Star Team Right Wing in 1934, 1935, and 1936, and a member of the Second All Star Team Right Wing in 1932 and 1933. He retired from hockey in 1941 to coach and to work at a brokerage firm in Toronto, Ontario. In 1961 Conacher was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a Player. He passed away in Toronto in December 1967 after a battle with throat cancer.
