Virginia Donevant Chafin was the daughter of Carlyle Leonard Donevant and Jessie Burton Donevant. She married Marion Francis "Chick" Chafin November 10, 1938, the son of Don Chafin and Mary Mounts Chafin, in Pikeville, Kentucky. She was the mother of at least two children: Don Chafin (1939-1999) and Cynthia Lee Chafin (1942-2000).
