The deceased was born in Lincoln Parish February 14, 1871. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver. He came to Winnfield in 1909, three years after his marriage to Miss Annabelle Anders [sic Andrews], who preceded him in death several years.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church last Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. H. H. McBride, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. He was a member of the Baptist Church and also of the Masonic fraternity.
Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. H. J. Endom, Jr. and one granddaughter, Jeri Endom of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Willard, Monroe, Mrs. Mollie Autrey, Dubach, and Mrs. H. H. Bittick, Baton Rouge; two brothers, H. M. [sic M. W.] Oliver, Bloomburg, Tex., and L. B. Oliver, Shreveport.
Active pallbearers were R. W. Buce, Wiley Hammons, Bob Smith, Byron Jackson, Alfred Walker, W. U. Drewett, and W. H. Baker.
