Alvin Joseph Kintner, Sr., 83, died May 8, 2006.

Joe was born May 6, 1923 in Chicago, Ill. He retired in 1980 from the US Government having worked many years at Ft. Huachuca as an electronics technician. Joe and his wife Mary then moved to Show Low. Joe was a realtor with Century 21 Sunshine Realty for many years.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Linn L., and her husband, Stanley C Oaks, Jr. of Clarksburg, Maryland; granddaughters and their husbands, Deborah and Dean Courtis and Kimberly and Kenneth Howes; great-granddaughter, Cassandra Marie Courtis and great-grandson, Kyle Joseph Howes. He is also survived by adopted son, Gilvan Lima of Centro Nova Friburgo, Brazil his wife Jacinta; and daughters, Cecilia and Leticia. Also by cousins in Indiana and California, and by many close friends.

Joe was preceded in death by wives, Mary Kathleen (LaRue) Kintner (39 years married) and Ruth L. (Helm) Kintner (13 years married) and also his son, Alvin Joseph Kintner, Jr.

Joe was a member since 1973 of Desert Star Chapter No. 54 of the Eastern Star in Tucson, Arizona and Past Worthy Patron. He was a member of the Huachuca Masonic Lodge No. 53 in Sierra Vista. Joe served proudly with the Show Low Senior Patrol. He co-chaired the first ever White Mountain Memory Walk for Alzheimer's and volunteered with AARP Tax-Aide. Joe was past President of the White Mountain Square Dance Club and square danced for over 50 years.

Memorial service will be held at the White Mountain United Methodist Church at 261 N. 5th Street in Show Low Thursday, May 18 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the church in Joe Kintner's memory. A date for the family memorial service at East Lawn Palms Cemetery in Tucson has not been set.
