ROBERT CARL AHLERSMEYER, 89, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Henry and Georgette Ahlersmeyer. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. He was an accountant and owner of R-A Business Service for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He was the first vice-president of the Bowmar Instrument Corp. of Fort Wayne and he had owned the Brew Haven Tavern, New Haven for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Almyra; children, Bob (Barbara), Ed (Millie) and Hein (Jane) Ahlersmeyer, all of New Haven, Rene (Tom) Ervin of Palm Beach, Fla., and Bill (Susan) Ahlersmeyer of Cypress, Texas; sister, Betty Harber of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hank and Jim Ahlersmeyer and Lou Harber.

Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. David Stecker officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
