She was born Nora Elizabeth Rogers on February 20, 1920 in Bon Air, Tennessee and then moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1944, where she later met and married William F. "Frank" Franks.
After raising a family, she and Frank moved to Tucson in 1976 to be closer to her grown family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; a sister, Pauline Farley; brothers, Dewey Rogers, Gene Rogers, Harold Rogers, Berry Rogers Jr., Junior Fields; and by her son-in-law, Eugene Armstrong.
She is survived by a sister, Gladys Fargo; and a half-sister, Virginia Williamson; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Jack Foster; daughter, Edith Bruce Armstrong; grandchildren, Jeff Foster, Jo Beth Foster Hickey, Dawn Foster Veteto, De'Ann Foster Veteto and Kristy Foster Martin, Eldon Armstrong, William Armstrong and Michele Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Kenneth, Cheyenne and Sarah; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Nora was a loving friend to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Barrier Chapel of the Casas Church, 10801 N. La Cholla Blvd. Tucson, Arizona. She will be buried later with Frank, a WWII Veteran, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
