Lucinda "Cindy" Feathers left this earth at home surrounded by her family in the early hours of March 21, 2010 to be with her heavenly Father. Cindy was born June 20, 1944 in Ponca City, the daughter of Orville Dodson and Clara Belle (Lane) Dodson. She grew up in Ponca City with her parents and two brothers, Ray and Donald. She received her early education in the Ponca City Public Schools.
Cindy was married to Jimmy R. Feathers on February 27, 1960 in Ponca City and to this union was born two children, Danny and Cathy. Cindy had many jobs throughout her life with her last employment being with Conoco's employee benefit department. She was employed with Conoco from 1981 until her retirement in 2000.
Cindy loved to spend time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed her 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and absolutely needed a bumper sticker stating that this car stops at all garage sales. For many years she raised Jack Russell dogs and gave each and every dog an endless supply of love and care. She also could not turn a stray cat away. It was as if they knew they could show up at her door and get food, water, shelter and lots of love. Cindy truly had a heart of gold.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 50 years, Jimmy; one son, Danny Feathers and wife, Lisa, and one daughter, Cathy Glaser and husband, Mark, all of Ponca City; one brother, Donald Dodson of San Pablo, California; granddaughters Shawntia Konell and husband, Jeramiah, Danielle Buffalohead and husband, Daryl; grandsons, Joshua Glaser and Trevor Feathers; five great grandchildren, Colton, Seth, Taelor, Leslie and Xander. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Clara Belle and one brother, Ray Dodson. From the family we say, we love you mom and we will miss you every day but know that you are still with us. Rest in peace until we're all together again.
Casket bearers will be James Bales, Denver Stocking, Ted Luckens, Steve Miner, Alan Marker and Vaughn Warren. Honorary casket bearers will be Don Kelsey, Carl Porter, Donald Dodson and late brother, Ray Dodson.
