Firman H. Adams Taken by Death
Firman Halsey Adams, 76, of 342 York Ave., Hawthorne, Cal., a former resident of this city, died Saturday in Daniel Freeman Hospital, Englewood, Cal., after a brief illness. Mr. Adams had been active in church work most of his life and served on the official board at Myrtle Street Methodist Church, this city, and later at Lennox Methodist Church, Lennox, Cal. He had been associated with the Railway Express Agency in this city, Philadelphia, Passaic, N.J., and Port Jervis and Middletown, N.Y. He lived in this city from 1921 to 1937. Mr. Adams was a member and past master of the Matamoras, Pa., Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons; a member of the Kiwanis Club in Port Jervis, and a charter member of Washington Lodge, Junior Order, United American Mechanics, this city. He lived with his son, Stanley W., in Hawthorne since his retirement in 1951. His son is the only immediate survivor. Interment will be in Matamoras.
