Mrs. L.V. Armstrong of 213 Day Street passed away early this morning. She had been suffering for six weeks from paralysis and softening of the brain and her death came as a relief to her pain. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Henderson County Nov. 5, 1861 and has lived all her life within the state of Illinois (not true). For the past eight years her home has been in Galesburg. Shortly after she reached the age of twenty years she was united in wedlock to Mr. L.W. Armstrong but she was separated from him in later life. Her maiden name was Libey Putney. She is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Cornelia McDonald of Galesburg, Mrs. Addie Harr of New York, S.D.; Mr. R. A. Armstrong of Galesburg and Mr. C.W. Armstrong of St. Paul. Mrs. Armstrong was a member and regular attendant upon the Methodist church. The funeral will be held at 213 Day St. Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. VanPelt will preach the funeral at sermon. Kimber and West are the undertakers.

Daughter of Ira M & Azubah Ann Haislett Putney. Married Luther William Armstrong. Mother of Ira N, Annis Adeline (Harr), Minnie, Cornelia (McDonald), and C W Armstrong.

"Lived all her life in Illinois" - in the 1900 census, she is living in Missouri with her husband and children. Being married at age 20: she had her first son, Ira, at age 15.
