Ruth Norris Bickerstaff, 87, of Albany, died December 28, 2005 at LaGrange
Hospice, LaGrange, GA. Her funeral service will be Saturday 11 AM at Kimbrell-
Stern with interment to follow at Newton Cemetery, Newton, GA. The Rev. Thad
Hagood will officiate.

She was born December 18, 1918 in Newton, GA and was the daughter of William
Franklin Norris and Bonnie Ruth Powell Norris of Newton, GA. She was the
younger of two children. Her brother William Franklin Norris, an Army Captain,
was killed in World War II. Ruth Bickerstaff graduated from the University of
Georgia in 1941. She married R. H. Bickerstaff (Bick) of Athens, GA and the
couple moved to Albany, GA after graduation. She was preceded in death by her
husband in 1978 after 37 years of marriage. Ruth was a dedicated teacher in
Dougherty County and retired after 26 years. She was a lifetime and committed
member of the First Methodist Church, Albany, GA.
