Sylas W. Cooper, son of Lewis and Jane Cooper was born Oct. 12, 1883 in Quincy, Ill. He passed away Dec 22, 1962 at the Lakeview Rest Home, at the age of 79 years 2 months and 10 days.
He was a veteran of World War I, and was united in marriage to Emma Moore, July 31, 1920. To this marriage were born three children, one son, Glen Cooper, two daughters, Pearl Carston and Beatrice Bynum all of Branson. Also surviving six grandchildren, three step sons, Otis and Earl Moore of Orifino, Idaho, and Earnest Moore of Nevada, Mo. A sister Mrs. Lily Nowlin of Sullivan, Ind., eight step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
