CLIFTON E. CALLIS
1927 - 2004
JAY, Okla. - Clifton E. Callis, 76 year old lifetime Jay resident passed away Sunday, June 27, 2004 at his home following an extended illness.
Clifton was born August 11, 1927 at Gravette, Ark. to Grover Callis and Eunice (Kincaid) Callis. He was a graduate of Jay High School. Clifton was retired from the Oklahoma State Highway Department. He was a former member of the Assembly of God Church and attended the Faith Mission Church.
Clifton was united in marriage to Maxine Earp in December of 1947. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two sisters, Katherine England and husband, Calvin of Jay, Jennalea Collins of Jay; one brother, Holden Callis of Coeurd'alene, Idaho and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lester and Benjamin Callis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 30 at the Faith Mission Church in Jay. Pastor Chester Crittendon will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 29 at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
