Helen Elaine Casey, born September 27, 1918, was received by the Lord on April 27,2005. She was lifted up by the angels to join her husband Daniel, and daughter Alice. Helen was a 1941 graduate of the Ohio State Universty and a gifted pianist. She was a devoted teacher of Music, French, and English and loved reading and writing. She was a wonderful, loving, kind person and her memory will always be treasured.

Helen

Why do I think of pianos, food, and the good-hearted children you raised, Helen?

Summer, when you made sandwiches and juice the color of flowers. How little ones ran through your house and lilacs seemed everywhere, even in winter.

I never knew your dreams, knew the history of your story, felt your tears like water in my hands.

But I saw where you put your heart. How you put your labor in the earth, brought bread to the table, served everyone's need.

And when you talked to others, how I admired your goodness, the enormous sun of your generosity, the selfless purity of your love.

What a victory your life is! Everywhere your extraordinary family. I see lullabies and kindness. How the girl who played Mozart created compostiions of her own.

The content of a grateful husband, Children who keep open the doors of their hearts...because of you.

The pleasure of your company among friends, and matricarch for the young. A girl who loved and accepted her life, grew graceful with age, never rusted, and leaves nothing but sweetness remaining in our hearts.
